Joomla 3.x the latest major release in 3 years is now stable and available to install using cPanel Quick Install. Support for Joomla 2.5 ended December 31st, 2014. What does that mean? Well after that they will no longer be putting out either bug fixes or security updates. While it is suggested that you ungrade by then you site will continue to work after December 2014. I suggest that you begin to plan for upgrading at a time that will have the least impact to your site. We can work with you to assist you in the upgrade or do it for you for a nominal fee.
For new clients thinking of installing Joomla it is highly suggested that you use version 3.x. But if you will be adding Joomla extensions, be sure to check that the one(s) you are interested in are compatible.
For existing client running Joomla 2.5 be sure that any extensions you are using are compatible before starting your upgrade. Also be sure to backup all your files and mySQL joomla database before you start. While there are methods available to upgrade your site, none are fool proof. The site template must be made 3.x capable or obtain a 3.x compatible template. Again, we can work with you to assist you in the upgrade or do it for you for a nominal fee.
